Version 1.0 Beta 1 Build 25 is out!
Hello everyone,
The version 1.0 Beta 1 Build 25 is out!
List of changes:
- The Preview of the published map is now a window within the editor. It isn’t a browser window anymore. It will prevent IE from caching the map during the preview and also browsers won’t block the preview page.
- After clicking OK in the Publish Dialog, a new dialog will open to show the URL address of your generated map, you just to need to select the address and copy (Ctrl+C) and paste it where you want (your website or blog for instance)
- A new field has been added to the Geocoding Dialog representing the “State” (usefull for our US users
) - We use a new Geocoder, so now you can geocode UK addresses!
- Some minor fixes
We want to thank all our testers and hope that you enjoy Click2Map™!
Please report any problem to labs@click2map.com.
Thanks!

Just checking out your site.. really nice, it seems to work perfectly. My only critique is the use of heavyweight components (what is that java?) since I didn’t see anything that couldn’t be done with ajax. However, never created an account so maybe there’s a good reason. Anyways, good luck!

Could be a nice tool. Will keep an eye on it. Having scrollable info windows at a determined heigth would be nice. Along with keeping images at uploaded size rather than size of window would also be helpful.

I didn’t see any way for the end user to get directions to the points I made. I thought that was the whole point in looking at a map!

Directions will be added very soon to the beta, you will be redirected to Google Maps.

Great tool. Very usefull for my club. Some questions and wishes:
why the map is zoom out when i publish it ?? How can i preset a zoom in my published map ??
We are a Westalia (small camper van) owners club. We have a lot of campgrounds that we would like to list on a map. What could be very usefull is to allow MULTIPLE registred users to edit this map. That’s will be a great feature !!!

merci !

Rémi,
Thank you for feedback.
About the zoom:
You can change the zoom of the map from the editor by right-clicking on the map and select “Set Map Zoom” from the popup menu.
You can also right-click on the map name in the treeview and select “Edit map”. Then in the Map Dialog adjust the zoom and/or the center with the slider. The center can be changed by enter an address or dragging the map.
The final version 1.0 (available in may/june) will allow multiple users for the same account.
(in french)
La version 1.0 finale disponible en mai/juin acceptera des utilisateurs multiples pour le même compte.

Hi, really great work.
Given any thought to supporting GeoRSS syndication of map content? This would allow combination of that data with other source in other systems. For instance, flickr supports GeoRSS feeds and mapufacture can overlay multiple feeds together.
Cheers
Mikel

Hi Mikel,
GeoRSS syndication is one of the thing we MUST implement for sure
Thanks for your feedback.

merci encore…
March 29th, 2007 at 4:07 pm

Thank you very much for this very good utility.
I miss one tool that I suppose it is not difficult to add: indication of GPS coordinates. You have the information because I see them when I edit my map, but they can’t be seen by normal users.
This information would be very important for GPS navigators.
Best regards,

In the next version of the beta (1.0 Beta Build 26) you will be able to automaticaly add the coordinates in marker info window.
